Today marks the 89th anniversary of the September 18 Incident in China. On September 18, 1931, the Japanese troops blew up a section of the railways in northeast China's Shenyang City and used it as a pretext for invasion. It marked the beginning of the 14-year Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

A memorial ceremony is being held in Shenyang. People from all walks of life pay tribute to the incident's victims, remember the history and cherish the nation's hard-won peace and prosperity. CGTN reporter Sun Tianyuan brings us more from Shenyang.
