Brazilian Attorney General Augusto Aras was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Thursday, the press office of the Attorney General's Office (PGR) reported. The country's COVID-19 death toll is approaching 135,000 after 829 more patients died of the COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 134,935, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) projected there will be 207,000 to 218,000 COVID-19 deaths in the United States by October 10. As of Thursday, over 197,000 Americans have already perished from the coronavirus, according to Johns Hopkins University.

UK has removed Singapore, Thailand from coronavirus quarantine list of countries from which travelers must quarantine when entering the country to try to curb the spread of the virus, British transport minister said on Thursday.

Spain reported 4,541 daily new cases, fewer than the 4,728 reported a day earlier. Deaths declined for the fourth consecutive day to 19, according to Health Ministry data.
