Global COVID-19 cases surpass 30 million: Johns Hopkins University
COVID-19 cases worldwide topped 30 million, reaching 30,003,378 on Thursday, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University (CSSE ).
Globally, over 943,000 people have lost their lives.
The U.S. leads in the number of both infections and deaths, with over 6.6 million confirmed cases, accounting for more than a fifth of the total.
Global cases topped 10 million on June 28, and rose to 20 million on August 10.
It took 43 days for the global caseload to jump from 10 million to 20 million and 38 days from 20 million to 30 million.
