Wang Meng is one of the most influential contemporary writers in China. In 1963, he left Beijing for the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and had lived in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture for 16 years. During his stay, his heart was captured by the magnificent natural landscape and the multi-ethnic culture, and he established a very deep friendship with locals. These experiences became the materials for his novels. CGTN visits Wang Meng Library and explores his life journey in Xinjiang.
