Beijing reports one new asymptomatic COVID-19 case from overseas
Beijing reported one new COVID-19 case, which was an asymptomatic patient from overseas, local health authorities said on Saturday.
The patient is a Chinese student studying in Pakistan. After arriving in Beijing on Friday, the customs conducted health screening, and the patient tested positive for nucleic acid and was transferred to the hospital.
Local health authorities have tracked down 38 close contacts on the flight, all of whom have been quarantined for medical observation.
For direct flights with more than three confirmed cases in a single shift, the entry point will be immediately restored from Beijing to the designated first entry point, the local government said, adding that for those flights with more than five confirmed COVID-19 cases, the "circuit-breaker" measures will be taken immediately and the flight will be returned to the designated first entry point after the end of the "circuit-breaker" period.
