China Media Group (CMG) on Friday released an eight-episode documentary "Rare Look into Xinjiang," featuring interviews on how eight migrant workers from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region earned a better life through their own hard work far away from home.

The second episode tells the story of Ulan, a 20-year-old woman from Xinjiang's Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture. She came to work in an electronics factory in Nanjing City, east China's Jiangsu Province, a few months ago.

Ulan is one of the few of her peers who work far away from home. Many of her friends and classmates have already got married and have their own families.

The work at the factory is tough, but Ulan said she likes the feeling of making a living through her own hard work. When she earns enough money, she said, she will buy an apartment for her parents in the county, making their lives better too.
