Guangzhou Evergrande defeated Henan Jianye 2-1 in a Chinese Super League game on Monday, sealing the No. 1 position of Group A with two games to go. Jianye's fate was confirmed too as they will go to the relegation group to fight to remain in the top league.

All three goals for this game happened within 30 minutes in the first half. He Chao broke into the box only to be knocked down by Fernando Karanga. The referee gave Evergrande a penalty which was converted by Ai Kesen.

Evergrande's lead was extended to 2-0 10 minutes later. Fei Nanduo's volley was denied by Jianye's goalkeeper but Paulinho followed in to score the second goal for Evergrande. Though Ivo made it 2-1 for Jianye by using Zhang Linpeng's mistake in the 29th minute, Jianye failed to achieve anything in the rest of the game.

Graziano Pelle scores 50th goal in CSL

Shandong Luneng edged 2-1 over Shenzhen F.C., pocketing their second win over the side this season. Liu Yu and Graziano Pelle scored two goals in the first half for Luneng while Gao Lin made a penalty for Shenzhen in the second half.

In the 15th minute, Luneng finished a brilliant 10-second counter strike. Their goalkeeper Han Rongze threw the ball to Zhang Chi who charged forward in high speed and found Pelle with a long pass. Pelle chested the ball to Liu in the box who then scored to make it 1-0 for Luneng.

Then in the 44th minute, Wu Xinghan broke into Shenzhen's box from the left and tripped on Ge Zhen's tackle. Luneng got a penalty and it was turned into another goal by Pelle. This was his 50th goal in his CSL career.

In the 62nd second, Gao earned a penalty kick for Shenzhen and made it himself. Luneng kept their lead until the end of the game.

In the other two games on Monday night, neither Shanghai Shenhua nor Jiangsu Suning scored and Guangzhou R&F beat Dalian Professional 1-0 thanks to the last minute goal by Ye Chugui.
