China's border city Ruili: no positive COVID-19 case found as citywide virus testing ends

The authorities of Ruili City, southwest China's Yunnan Province, said on Monday that citywide virus testing is complete and no positive case of COVID-19 has been found.

Strict lockdown measures at residential compounds will be removed at 10:00 p.m., the authorities said.

Ruili City launched free nucleic acid testing on September 15, after two COVID-19 cases were found among illegal immigrants from the border with Myanmar.

Starting from Monday until October 10, people who wish to leave the city have to present valid proof of a negative test result done within seven days before departure.
