The Chinese mainland registered 12 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, all from overseas, the National Health Commission said on Monday.

This is the 36th consecutive day without domestic transmissions on the Chinese mainland. No deaths from the disease were reported while seven patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 85,291 and the death toll at 4,634 on the Chinese mainland, while 397 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

The total confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 5,032 (4,712 recoveries, 103 deaths)

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 507 (479 recoveries, 7 deaths)
