Thousands gathered in southwest China's Chengdu City on Sunday to sample a massive mooncake as the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches. The festival, which falls on the 15th day of the eighth month on the lunar Chinese calendar, October 1 this year, is a traditional holiday celebrated in China and east Asia.
