Japan plans to resume overseas entry as soon as early October

Japanese government officials revealed on Wednesday that the country intends to substantially relax its border control measures, allowing more foreigners to enter for stays of three months or longer starting as soon as early October, Japanese media reported.

Around 1,000 foreigners would be granted entry daily under the eased restrictions, with increased virus testing capacity at airports to accommodate them, said the report.
