India's coronavirus death toll climbed to 90,020 on Wednesday, after 1,085 more fatalities, and 83,347 new cases during the previous 24 hours, were recorded, raising its caseload to 5,646,010.

Mexico's total number of cases rose to 705,263 on Tuesday, with a reported death toll of 74,348. Authorities recorded 4,683 new cases and 651 deaths on the day, but the actual figures are likely higher due to limited testing.

Argentina reported 12,027 new infections on Tuesday, bringing its caseload to 652,174. More than 470 people died from COVID-19, raising its death toll to 13,952. Argentina's economy contracted a record 19.1 percent in the second quarter of 2020 versus the same period a year earlier.

Brazil registered 33,536 new confirmed cases in 24 hours as its total number of infections rose to more than 4.59 million on Tuesday. The death toll rose to 138,108 with 836 new deaths. Football fans in Brazil could soon return to stadiums on a limited basis, as authorities approved a proposal allowing stadiums to operate at up to 30 percent of their capacity.
