An infrared camera captured a male alpine musk deer wandering around in Lanzhou City's Agan Forest Farm in northwestern China's Gansu Province on September 14.

The endangered species disappeared in the 1980s but has resurfaced as the environment has steadily improved.

The Alpine musk deer is under first-class state protection in China. Humans are their biggest threat.
