Two asymptomatic COVID-19 cases were recorded in Qingdao City, east China's Shandong Province on Thursday, according to local health officials.

The two patients are workers at the Qingdao Port and they offloaded a batch of imported frozen seafood on which coronavirus was later found.

Qingdao's authorities have traced and quarantined 132 people who had close contact with the two cases. Among them, 129 tested negative for coronavirus.

The seafood products have been sealed off and blocked from entering the market, officials said. A total of 1,440 samples from products and the warehouse were tested for coronavirus and 51 of them have shown a positive result.
