Situated at the foot of Tianshan Mountains in the northwest of Hejing County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Bayanbulak Grassland is a great prairie boasting luxuriant verdant grass, numerous herds of houses and varied plants. /CGTN

Bayanbulak means "abundant spring" in Mongolian. It is the second largest grassland in China encompassing an area of 23,000 square kilometers. /CGTN

This prairie is also home to the descendants of Mongolians who returned to the east motherland from Russia about two hundred years ago. The Barun Temple, known as "the last moving lama temple," had relocated during migration and was eventually settled in Bayanbulak. /CGTN

At night, Bayanbulak has nothing but silence, moonlight, infinity stars and soft breeze. It is enjoyable to sleep on the steppes in a ger. /CGTN
