On September 24, Johnny's & Associates, a Japanese talent agency, announced that boy band Kanjani Eight member Tadayoshi Okura tested positive for COVID-19.

"On the night of September 20, he felt fatigued but didn't have a fever so he was self-monitoring. Then on the morning of September 21, he had a slight fever of 37.5°C (99.5°F) so he took the PCR test. On September 23, he was confirmed positive," reported Johnny's.

Kanjani Eight, the five-member Japanese boy band from Japan's Kansai region, consists of You Yokoyama, Shingo Murakami, Ryuhei Maruyama, Shota Yasuda, and Tadayoshi Okura.

Among the members and staff members who have had close contact are team member Maruyama and a manager. On September 23, all staff took PCR tests and the results returned negative.

Meanwhile, other members Murakami, Yokoyama, and Yasuda tested negative as well. And because they are not considered to be persons of close contact, they will be continuing their activities as scheduled.
