Daolang Mukam is a kind of dance and musical performance in southern Xinjiang. It's said to be the origin of all Mukam performances in the region. The art form has been listed as a National Cultural Heritage and promoted the development of Mukam in places like Kashgar, Turpan, Hami and Ili. Its most eminent features are a free and unrestrained style as well as simple but powerful music and dance rhythms.
