Russia's daily tally of new cases hit its highest level since June 20 on Sunday at 7,867, bringing its total to 1,151,438, there were 99 deaths, taking the country's official coronavirus death toll to 20,324.

South Korea reported 95 more cases as of Sunday compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 23,611. Of the new cases, 33 were Seoul residents and 18 were people residing in Gyeonggi province. Two more deaths were confirmed, leaving the death toll at 401. The total fatality rate stood at 1.70 percent.

India's total number of confirmed cases is inching towards the 6-million mark, reaching 5,992,532 on Sunday, as the death toll reached 94,503. As many as 88,600 new cases and 1,124 deaths were reported across the country in the past 24 hours.

Egypt recorded 111 new cases, bringing the total infections in the country to 102,736. Meanwhile, 16 patients died from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 5,869.

Peru's total number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 800,142, with 32,142 deaths. Meanwhile, the government urged Peruvians not to lower their guard and comply with preventive health measures, such as hand washing and social distancing to avoid new infections and a possible "second wave" of the disease.
