2020 National Gymnastics Championships conclude in south China

The 2020 National Gymnastics Championships has finished its last day competition on Monday in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province, where the last five gold medals were up for grabs in the individual finals.  

First in men's vault, national team member Huang Ming who was favored to win after ranking first in qualifying had the highest degree of difficulty at 6.0 and he scored 14.933 points to claim the title.  

In the women's balance beam, 16-year-old Guan Chenchen of Zhejiang beat Wei Xiaoyuan of Guangxi by 0.333 points to claim her maiden national title. Guangdong's Liu Tingting finished third.

In the men's parallel bars, world champion Zou Jingyuan made an error by hitting the bar during a move and finished second with 14.933 points while Guangdong's Wu Xiaoming claimed gold with 15.066 points.  

The other two events saw Beijing's Qi Qi win the women's floor exercise and Guangdong's Ji Lianshen the men's horizontal bar. 

On Sunday's individual finals, Deng Shudi of Guizhou picked up a gold medal in men's floor exercise after scoring total of 14.666 points, 0.400 points over Xiao Ruoteng. In men's pommel horse, Sun Wei who was the top of the qualifier slipped in the final.

That opens the door for Zou Jingyan, who put together a performance full of smooth moves. He and Xiao both score 15.100 points, but Zou claimed the title on tiebreaker rules. And on the women's uneven bars, Olympic qualifier Fan Yilin grabbed the gold in this event. The 20-year-old earned top honors after completing a series of difficult maneuvers, and hoped to stay in strong form until next summer.  

In women's all-round event, local favorite Liu Tingting defended her championship with 111.100 points overall. Wei Xiaoyuan from Guangxi finishes second with a total of 110.600 points, while Qi Qi of Beijing places third. Jiang's Sun Wei won the men's all-round gold medal with 172.300 points, Xiao and Deng finished second and third.

In the men's team all-round final earlier, Jiangsu's Sun Wei, Ma Yue, Shi Cong, Weng Hao, Yin Dexing and You Hao won the title with 334.850 points, Guangdong and Guangxi finished second and third. On the women's side, Liu Tingting, Chen Yile, Liu Jingxing, Wu Ran, Sun Xinyi and Liu Yongtong claimed gold with 214.800 point, while silver and bronze went to Beijing and Zhejiang.
