The world's largest roll-on/roll-off passenger and freight harbor – Xuwen Port – started operations in south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday. The port has a land reclamation area of 76 hectares, a port basin area of ​​56 hectares and 16 ro-ro berths capable of handling vessels of a duntage of up to 10,000 tons. It shortens by half the shipping distance between Xuwen and Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province, and will increase the interconnectivity and transportation between the two south China provinces.
