Double the festivities, double the joy
Updated 16:58, 01-Oct-2020

October 1, 2020 is an extraordinary day for Chinese people, when the country's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival overlap with each other on very the same day. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, such a coincidence has happened only three times -- in 1982, 2001 and this year. There had been a 19-year interval between these three "doubles", but the next such an occasion will be seen 11 years later, in 2031.

As China's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival both fall on October 1 this year, Chinese are enjoying double the joy.
