HK police arrest 86 people for unlawful assembly

A total of 86 people have been arrested, four of whom are district councilors, on charges including unlawful assembly, and for launching violent attacks, including attacking police officers with knives and petrol bombs, damaging police stations and blocking roads, in various districts of the city on Thursday, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) said on social media.

In addition, another 20 people were ticketed for breaching the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition on Group Gathering) Regulation amid COVID-19 pandemic in the city, according to the police.
