Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Friday wished President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania a swift recovery from COVID-19.

"Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery," Biden said on Twitter. "We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family," he added.

Biden will receive a COVID-19 test on Friday morning, following President Donald Trump's infection, reported CNN citing a source familiar with his plans.

Earlier this week, President Trump and Biden attended the first presidential debate. Neither Biden nor Trump wore masks on stage.

Everyone attending the debate at Case Western Reserve University would undergo testing for COVID-19 and follow other health safety protocols, reported CNN citing the Commission on Presidential Debates.
