Latest COVID-19 developments in the U.S.
- Former U.S. President Bill Clinton wished Donald Trump and his wife Melania a "speedy recovery." In the same Twitter message, Clinton also expressed "hope for the safety of the White House staff, the Secret Service, and others putting their lives on the line."
- Former U.S. President Barack Obama also extended his good wishes to Trump. Obama tweeted that "Michelle and I hope that the President, First Lady, and all those affected by the coronavirus around the country are getting the care they need and are on the path to a speedy recovery."
- Republican Senator Thom Tillis on Friday announced he has tested positive for COVID-19. He had earlier attended Trump' s announcement of Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett in the Rose Garden of the White House.
- The U.S. has recorded more than 7.33 million cases of COVID-19 with 208,669 deaths nationwide as of Friday evening, according to Johns Hopkins University's tally.
