The Ulurwati Water Conservancy Project in northwest China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region is known as the "Small Three Gorges of Kunlun." The reservoir is as deepest as 110 meters and the dam is 131.8 meters high. It is the highest dam of its kind built in China, the second highest in Asia and the fourth highest in the world. It can store up to 347 million cubic meters of water. There are several small islands in the south of the reservoir, on which many plants grow.
