Solomon Islands reports its first case of COVID-19 

The Solomon Islands has reported its first case of COVID-19, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare confirmed on Saturday in an address to the nation. 

The infected patient is a student who returned from the Philippines recently but had tested negative before his departure. 

Sogavare said close contacts with the patient have been traced and put under quarantine.
