Among all the high-speed railways in China, the Beijing-Shanghai line is the busiest. About 130,000 people take the high-speed rail every day at Beijing South Railway Station. That's the population of a small town. And 70 percent of them take the Beijing-Shanghai line.

Transporting a total of 215 million passengers last year, it's also China's most profitable high-speed rail line.
