Russia's new coronavirus cases surge to highest since May 12

Russia's number of daily new coronavirus cases rose to the highest figure since May 12 on Monday with 10,888 new infections reported.

A total of 117 people died overnight, bringing the official death toll to 21,475. 

The number of infections in the country is now 1,225,889.
