Chinese mainland reports 12 new COVID-19 cases, all from overseas

The Chinese mainland on Monday registered 12 new COVID-19 cases, all from overseas, the National Health Commission announced on Tuesday.

This is the 51st consecutive day of zero domestic transmissions reported on the Chinese mainland. No deaths related to the coronavirus were reported over the previous 24 hours, while seven patients were discharged from hospitals.

The COVID-19 tally on the Chinese mainland stands at 85,482 infections and 4,634 fatalities, while 375 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

The total confirmed infections in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 5,124 (4,864 recoveries, 105 deaths)

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 518 (485 recoveries, 7 deaths)
