The Nam Co Lake is the world's highest saltwater lake, 4,718 meters above sea level. It is located at the boundary of Damxung and Baingoin counties, SW China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The lake is considered sacred in Tibetan Buddhism.
During the National Day holiday, the lake has been a popular destination for holidaymakers. More than 20,000 trips were made to the lake in the first four days of the holiday.
