The Bai people is a minority group that live mostly in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture of southwest China's Yunnan Province. The word "bai" means "white" in Chinese. For the Bai people, white signifies dignity and high social status and often wear them in clothes. Younger Bai women predominantly wear white clothes embroidered with rich and colorful patterns while the older women mainly dress in blue and black.
