WHO: Ten percent of world’s population may have had virus

Speaking at a special session of the WHO's executive board held on October 5, Dr. Michael Ryan, head of WHO's Health Emergencies Program, said their “best estimates” indicate that roughly one in 10 people worldwide may have been infected by the coronavirus, far outstripping the number of confirmed cases as tallied by both WHO and Johns Hopkins University.
