The Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Grottoes are a complex of Buddhist caves. It sits high on the cliffs of the western Mutou Valley, at the foot of the Flaming Mountains near the northern rim of the Taklamakan Desert in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
