Hong Kong reports eight new COVID-19 cases
China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) reported eight new COVID-19 cases on Friday, according to the city's Center for Health Protection.
Seven of the new cases are local transmissions, the authorities said, including three staff from a local luxury hotel called the Royal Garden.
The hotel and its restaurants will be temporarily closed from October 9 to 22, the hotel authorities announced. As of Thursday, a total of four staff at the hotel have contracted the novel coronavirus.
The city has so far reported a total of 5,169 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 105 deaths.
