Russia registered 12,846 new cases over the past 24 hours, setting a new all-time high as the pandemic resurges, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus cases to 1,285,084, including 22,454 deaths. Moscow has seen a spike in new infections, tallying 4,105 new cases over the past day, bringing the city's total to 325,917.

Indonesia's total number of confirmed cases rose by 4,294 within one day to 328,952, with the death toll adding by 88 to 11,765. A total of 3,814 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 251,481.

Poland reported a record 5,300 new infections on Saturday, as new restrictions including wearing masks outside at all times go into effect. The country has now recorded 121,638 confirmed cases and 2,972 deaths.

The Netherlands reached a new record in daily coronavirus cases, hitting nearly 6,500 infections in 24 hours. The government has warned that new restrictions will have to be imposed across the country, one of the worst hits in Europe's second pandemic wave, if the number of infections and hospital admissions does not drop this weekend.

U.S. reported 57,420 new cases on Friday, the third consecutive day of more than 50,000 coronavirus cases, taking the total number of confirmed cases exceeds 7.7 million with more than 213,000 deaths. The country's daily case count average — now more than 46,000 — has surged by 12 percent since the previous week.
