India's total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases surpassed the seven million mark on Sunday, according to the latest data released by the health ministry on Sunday.

India reported 74,383 new cases with 918 more deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 7,053,806, and the death toll to 108,334.

In all districts, 18 states and territories now have more than 100,000 confirmed cases. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka were the worst affected states.

As of October 10, more than 86.87 million novel coronavirus test samples had been tested in India, among which more than 1.07 million samples had been tested on the 10th day.
