Sayram Lake is located in the northern Tianshan Mountains in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It covers an area of 453 square kilometers and contains 21 billion cubic meters of water. As the last place to feel the warm air current of the Atlantic Ocean, the lake is nicknamed the "last tear of the Atlantic."
