Central Chinese wetlands restored to host myriad of wintering waterbirds

With winter approaching, large flocks of migratory waterbirds arrived at Dongting Lake's wetlands in central China's Hunan Province, where large-scale ecological restoration took place. The wetlands here serve as a major wintering habitat for birds. In the past few years, the project restored part of the lake that had been used as farmland. The increasing species of fish thus became a rich source of food, attracting more and more migratory birds.
