The Mogao Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a shrine of Buddhist art treasures, is located in Dunhuang, China. The location sits on a significant crossroad for exchanges along the legendary Silk Road. The cultural exchanges between the East and the West left indelible marks there, making it extremely exquisite and cosmopolitan. To get a closer look at the 1,000 years that the site spans, CGTN host Tian Wei talked to Neil Schmid, the only foreign scholar at the Dunhuang Academy, who specializes on the Silk Road and Buddhist Studies.
