South Korea reported 97 new cases of COVID-19 as of midnight Sunday local time compared to 24 hours earlier, raising the total number to 24,703. The daily caseload has hovered below 100 for five straight days, but double-digit growth continued due to small cluster infections in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province.
India registered 66,732 new cases over the past 24 hours, and its COVID-19 tally rose to 7,120,538 on Monday. The death toll reached 109,150 with 816 deaths since Sunday morning, the ministry's data showed.
Brazil on Sunday said it registered 290 more COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 150,488. According to its health ministry, 12,345 new cases were reported in the same period, bringing its total caseload to 5,094,982.
Germany's COVID-19 caseload increased by 2,467 over the past 24 hours to 325,331, according to data released on Monday by the Robert Koch Institute for infectious diseases. Six more deaths lifted the country's death toll to 9,621.
