Qingdao reports 6 confirmed COVID-19 cases, rolls out city-wide testing

Six confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Qingdao City, east China's Shandong Province as of Sunday night, the municipal health commission said in the early hours on Monday, adding that six asymptomatic cases had also been detected.

It comes after the discovery of three asymptomatic cases early on Sunday, all associated with the Qingdao Chest Hospital, which has been treating COVID-19 patients arriving from overseas.

The commission said all cases, which include patients and care-givers, were "linked" to the hospital.

City-wide testing is now underway, which the local government vowed to complete within five days.

The National Health Commission has also dispatched an expert team to Qingdao to guide the work of virus prevention and control.
