Six ancient porcelain kiln ruins have been brought to light in Beihai, a coastal city in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The ruins date back 1,000 years and are connected to the ancient Maritime Silk Road. Some 100 pieces of porcelain ware identified from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) were excavated from the ruins, including pots, bowls, basins, plates, and other household tools. Beihai served as a thoroughfare along the ancient Maritime Silk Route, an access for Chinese goods like porcelain ware to reach Europe, especially during the Tang Dynasty, when foreign trade flourished.
