Photographer John Cobham captured images of a slow worm extending its head from a pool of water in Scotland looking like a miniature Loch Ness Monster. It was spotted near Loch Sunart in Scotland's West Highlands.

Slow worms can live for more than 15 years, and can grow to about 50 centimeters in length. They rely on warmth to generate mobility – meaning this one stayed fairly static in cold water.
