Latest COVID-19 development around the world

Some countries have published their daily numbers of infections and deaths over the past few hours.

India's tally of coronavirus infections stood at 7.37 million on Friday, having risen by 63,371 in the last 24 hours, health ministry data showed. Deaths from COVID-19 infections rose by 895 to 112,161.

Number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 7,334 to 348,557, data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases showed on Friday. The death toll rose by 24 to 9,734.

Ukraine registered a new record 5,992 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of cases climbed to 287,231, including 5,394 deaths, with 92 in the past 24 hours.

The Czech Republic also registered a new record of daily increase with 9,721 new infections. The country of 10.7 million has registered the biggest surge of new coronavirus cases in Europe, with the total number of infections detected since the pandemic hit in March having more than doubled to 149,010.
