Month-long curfew begins in Paris as Europe hit by COVID-19 resurgence

About 20 million people in Paris and eight other French cities on Saturday entered their first night of a 9 p.m.-6 a.m. curfew, which will last for at least a month, after the country on Thursday saw a new daily high of 30,000 COVID-19 cases.

French President Emmanuel Macron ordered nightly curfew on Wednesday to tackle a surging second wave of the coronavirus, saying now was not the time for conviviality.
