WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, speaking to reporters on October 16, said the interim results from the agency's Solidarity Therapeutics Trial have shown that Remdesivir and Interferon "have little or no effect in preventing death from COVID-19 or reducing time in hospital" for patients, adding that currently dexamethasone is still the only effective therapeutic against COVID-19 for severely-ill patients.
