Seven killed in explosion outside police office in W. Afghanistan

A car bomb Sunday targeting an Afghan police headquarters in the western province of Ghor killed at least seven people and wounded more than 70, officials said.

The ministry of interior said the car bomb detonated in front of Ghor police headquarters at about 11:00 a.m. local time. 

Security forces have cordoned off the area for precautionary measures.

Further details about the incident are still forthcoming amid the absence of any official statement.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
