Hong Kong reports 5 new COVID-19 cases, total tally at 5,261
China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Tuesday reported five new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, pushing the city's case tally to 5,261, according to the Center for Health Protection (CHP).
Four of the newly reported infections were from overseas, while the source of the other domestically transmitted case has not been identified, the authority added.
The HKSAR government on Tuesday said it will ease some COVID-19 restrictions from Friday, but will extend mandatory mask-wearing and prohibitions on public gatherings of more than four people for another week.
Residents will be allowed to join local tours of up to 30 people and wedding ceremonies with no more than 50 guests can be held from Friday, local authorities said.
