China's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday refuted reports of the country blocking delivery of merchandise related to the K-pop boy band BTS.

Zhao Lijian, a spokesperson for the ministry, said the Chinese government does not have any policies in place to prohibit logistics companies from delivering BTS-related goods.

Zhao made the remarks at a press briefing while responding to a question related to media reports from the Republic of Korea (ROK) about China suspending delivery of merchandise featuring BTS after the supergroup made remarks about the 1950-1953 Korean War that angered some netizens.

Zhao said we all should learn lessons from history and look forward to the future, hold dear peace, and strengthen friendship.

He added that China's stance on supporting mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations has not changed.

The Chinese embassy in the ROK on the same day also denied the media reports on the issue. Wang Wei, spokesperson for the embassy, said China's customs authorities did not block BTS-related merchandise from entering the country.

Wang said he hopes both nations' media can play a constructive role in promoting friendly cooperative relations in all fields.
