The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, in accordance with the instruction of China's central government, announced on Friday the suspension of the agreement on surrender of fugitive offenders between Hong Kong and Finland.

The move came after Finland unilaterally suspended the implementation of the agreement with the HKSAR.

The HKSAR government issued a notice to the Consulate General of Finland in Hong Kong on Friday to suspend the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the HKSAR of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Finland Concerning Surrender of Fugitive Offenders.
